Our story
We're a small team of lifelong gamers who believe the best games ever made are the ones that already exist. Our mission is simple: keep gaming history alive, one tested console and honest listing at a time.
Your Chill Games started the way most good things do — out of frustration. Our founder had been buying retro games and consoles online for years, and kept running into the same problems: vague condition descriptions, photos that hid damage, sellers who didn't actually test the hardware they were selling. A PS1 that "works fine" but won't read discs. A SNES described as "good condition" with a cracked cartridge slot. A Mega Drive that arrived without a power supply.
The solution seemed obvious: build a store where honesty isn't a selling point, it's just the baseline. Where every console is powered on and tested with a game before it's listed. Where condition grades mean something specific. Where the person writing the listing has actually played the game.
That's what Your Chill Games is. A specialist retro gaming store run by people who care about this stuff — not a warehouse operation shifting volume, but a curated shop where every item has been through our hands and our testing process before it reaches yours.
We describe condition as it is, not as we'd like it to be. Scratches are noted. Cracks are photographed. Yellowing is mentioned. You know exactly what you're getting before you order.
Every console is tested by someone who plays games, not someone following a checklist. We know what a healthy disc drive sounds like. We know what a worn analogue stick feels like. We test accordingly.
Pre-owned gaming is inherently sustainable. Every console we sell is one that doesn't end up in landfill. Every game that finds a new home is one that doesn't need to be manufactured again. We're proud of that.
We pay fair prices for trade-ins because we want people to keep gaming history circulating. A collection that sits in a loft helps nobody. We'd rather it was played.
Retro hardware is irreplaceable. We wrap consoles in bubble wrap, use double-walled boxes, and never cut corners on packaging. If it arrives damaged, that's on us — and we'll make it right.

It started with a box of games from a house clearance — a mix of PS1, SNES, and Mega Drive titles. We tested them, graded them honestly, and listed them. They sold within a week. The feedback was the same every time: "Finally, a seller who actually describes condition properly."
As volume grew, we formalised our testing process. Every console now goes through a six-point check: power, disc/cartridge read, AV output, controller ports, memory/save function, and physical inspection. We built testing rigs for the most common platforms so we could test faster without cutting corners.
Customers kept asking if we'd buy their collections. We started offering trade-in quotes — and quickly realised how much good stock was sitting in lofts across the UK, waiting to be played again. Trade-ins now account for a significant portion of our stock, and we pay fairly because we want people to keep the cycle going.
We now stock hundreds of games, consoles, and accessories across dozens of platforms. New stock arrives weekly from trade-ins and private collections. Our team is small but passionate, and every item still goes through the same honest testing and grading process it always has. We're proud of what we've built — and we're just getting started.
