The HD Gaming Revolution
The Xbox 360 launched in November 2005 — a full year before the PlayStation 3 — and immediately established itself as the go-to platform for online multiplayer gaming. Xbox Live on the 360 was a generation ahead of the competition, with party chat, achievements, and a unified friends list that Sony and Nintendo scrambled to match.
The Xbox 360 S (slim), released in 2010, fixed the infamous Red Ring of Death hardware issues and added built-in Wi-Fi. It's the recommended model for retro collectors today.
